i think you got it right. los campesinos! are twee without wanting to be twee... they are an emo new pornographers... trying to be sophisticated like BSS... but wanting to be sincere and warm like mates of state... but at the same time they want to be loud and fun! somehow... i think los campesions! gets it... but knows it wont last forever... which makes them that much better right now.
