R.I.P. Majel

Say 'hi' to the Doc, Scotty, and Gene for me when you get to the final frontier.

Majel Barrett Roddenberry died of leukemia yesterday at the age of 76. Besides being the wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, Majel played Nurse Chapel on the original series, Lwaxana Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and supplied the voice for all the Federation ships and computers on TNG, DS9, and Voyager. She was supposed to supply the computer voice for new Star Trek film.

Most of the articles I read indicated that she had, in fact, finished recording her voice-over work for the new film. So... we'll get to travel the stars with Majel one last time, it seems.
